Crowdfunding - the next big thing?
In December 2011, we stumbled upon Kickstarter, a crowdfunding website. We decided it was time to investigate this marketplace, and since then, we've followed some pretty spectacular fundraising activities to get a wide range of projects airborne.
Being naturally inquisitive, we decided to see what was going on in the UK crowdfunding market space, and came across Crowdcube and their success.
The more we investigated crowdfunding, the more we concluded that crowdfunding is going to be a major source of funding new and established businesses...the potential is huge.
Growthfunders is born...
We have been involved in raising over £100M of capital for major investment projects and business opportunities.
The question we continually asked ourselves was “what might we achieve with a crowdfunding platform to target a wider audience?" Well, the only way to find out was to build one, and being the entrepreneurs we are, we embarked on just that! Thus, "GrowthFunders" was born, our own equity crowdfunding platform which goes live in Q4 of 2013. As the name suggests “GrowthFunders” is about raising capital for growth for start-ups, early stage and established businesses.
The challenge ahead is the ability to spot the right investment opportunities that have the potential to grow. We will be working with talented entrepreneurs, leading start-ups and established enterprises. We want to ensure that we provide the best possible support for growth and we have some great ideas around that activity.
As you'd expect, we are very excited about the launch and we can see great potential to support our clients in raising the necessary capital to support planned growth and, hopefully, enjoy the journey along the way.
UPDATE: GrowthFunders is now live and hosts a range of exciting investment opportunties with high growth potential, all of which are SEIS and EIS compliant. You can browse all our investments using the button below, but if you want to see them in full detail, you will need to sign up as a member. Don't worry, it's free!
