Protected Species, an Introduction
Protected Species, an innovative womenswear apparel brand creating sophisticated waterproof clothing, are raising funds on the GrowthCapitalVentures online co-investment platform, GrowthFunders.
The team have proven their credentials in designing/developing a credible and commercial range, building the supply chain, selling the product and establishing considerable PR exposure. Protected Species are now looking to build on this early traction and raise a total £500,000 in exchange for a 33% equity stake in the company. The capital will be used to accelerate the sales and marketing plan and grow the range.
What is Protected Species?
Protected Species designs, develops and markets a completely new concept: style-led performance apparel for women that can take you from boardroom to mountain peak. Protected Species is the antithesis of current “outdoor” brands - offering products women would choose to wear through style, rather than necessity.
Achievements to Date:
The team have sold over 1,500 units of their collection, generating revenues of £140,000, whilst juggling demanding full time careers. This has involved minimal paid digital marketing.
Primarily selling online, but also trading through 8 small UK and EU based retailers, the reaction to the product through customer emails, reviews, and via media feedback has been significant. The first 2 years of trading and website data generated has made it clear that there is an opportunity globally for growth.
