Driving our long-term success
The Growth Capital Ventures Board, consisting of four industry-experienced figures, provides clear leadership guidance to the senior management team for the implementation of the company's strategy and ensuring the company's culture, purpose and values are all effectively aligned.





Bill is Head of Finance at Maven, and has responsibility for the fund administration, accounting and company secretariat functions. Bill is also responsible for ensuring that Maven meets its compliance and authorisation obligations.
He joined Aberdeen Asset Management in 2004 from State Street Bank & Trust Company, where as Head of Collective Fund Services he provided outsourced fund administration, tax and accounting services to a range of clients and funds. Prior to this, he was responsible for fund administration and accounting for Murray Johnstone.
Bill has a BA in Accountancy, and qualified as a Chartered Accountant whilst with Arram Berlyn Gardner in London.

Suzanne has responsibility for administering the Maven Investor Partner business and provides general business support to the Maven team, including in areas such as investor relations and compliance.
Suzanne joined Maven in August 2010 from Bank of Scotland Private Banking where she was responsible for managing a portfolio of High Net Worth clients. She has worked in financial services for 23 years.

Norm has held senior positions in startups, mid sized SMEs and PLCs operating across a variety of sectors including finance, telecoms, infrastructure and property.
Throughout his career, Norman has been involved in raising finance to support business growth and large scale infrastructure projects. His experience includes raising seed capital for start-ups, securing expansion capital (£60M) for a Netherlands based Internet Service Provider (“ISP”) and development capital for infrastructure projects. At Bell CM he was responsible for developing the strategic growth plan and securing investment for new business opportunities including mergers and acquisitions.
Norm is an Approved Person with the Financial Conduct Authority (SMF1 / SMF3 / SMF11 / SMF30). He holds the RICS Post Graduate Diploma in Project Management, he studied his MBA at Bradford and completed the Oxford Private Equity Programme, Saïd Business School, University of Oxford.

Craig has a wealth of experience supporting businesses and large scale development projects. He acts as a strategic adviser, mentor, Non Exec and investor to a range of startups, early stage and established businesses, helping to raise finance and support growth.
His experience spans a number of sectors including; technology, alternative finance, property, housing, regeneration and management consultancy and includes raising seed / growth capital for high growth businesses and project finance for regeneration / real estate projects.
Craig is an approved person with the Financial Conduct Authority (SMF1 / SMF10/ SMF30). He holds an MBA (Enterprise) and is Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute and brings an entrepreneurial approach to business, strategy, finance, growth and development.

As Investor Relations Director, Dan effectively communicates our opportunities with our private investor network, ensuring they have access to the opportunities they desire to support the development of a diversified portfolio of venture capital, private equity and property investments.
With a background in marketing and communications, Dan has worked closely with a number of financial services and technology-focused organisations to drive forward their communication strategies.

Having joined the team in 2019 as an intern whilst studying Marketing and Management at Newcastle University, since that point Harvey has secured a role as a Digital Marketing Graduate, and more recently, been promoted to the role of Investment Communications and Marketing Executive.
Possessing a strong experience in both the study and practice of the marketing and investment fields, Harvey leads in the planning and execution of regular, SEO-optimised website content, multi-channel social media marketing, email marketing and regular investor communications and relationship-building. Now increasingly involved in the overall strategising of GCV’s marketing and investor relations efforts, Harvey contributes end-to-end expertise across his department.

Jo graduated from Newcastle University in 2018 with a degree in Journalism, Media and Culture and has an enthusiasm for digital marketing and digital content writing.
Jo is responsible for producing customer-focused website content and assisting with the execution of the wider marketing strategy for the various brands under GCV. Working closely with the rest of the marketing team, as well as the design and development teams, Jo ensures a constant stream of relevant, quality digital marketing materials with customer satisfaction at the forefront.

Emma has over 14 years experience in administration spanning various industries. She is responsible for managing the company’s back office processes in addition to overseeing the administration team, ensuring the efficient delivery of admin support across the business.
Emma works closely with Senior Managers and Directors providing HR assistance and Project Support across all areas of the business.

Laura is AAT Qualified and has 12 years experience within finance across blue chip organisations, with a particular focus on Manufacturing. Laura is responsible for supporting the finance function across the GCV group of companies.
Laura is an experienced ledger clerk, and will work alongside the CEO supporting with the day to day finance function as well as completion of management accountants including reporting and reconciliations.

As a Digital Content Coordinator, Luca is responsible for supporting the marketing team in building brand awareness and promoting key messaging through video and photography production and editing.

Beth is currently completing her Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship whilst supporting the Office Manager with back office administrative duties and offering wider administration support to departments company wide. Beth provides an important front of house role, welcoming visitors, handling incoming calls and ensuring the smooth running of the reception area.

Tony is a qualified Scrum Master with experience of working in Project and Change Management teams across various industries within the public and private sector.
As a Programme Manager, Tony is responsible for managing the delivery of the product development roadmap across GrowthFunders and the MAVEN Bonds platform. Leading the development team using agile and traditional project methodologies. Managing multiple complex projects at any one time, applying relevant control methods to ensure projects are managed within agreed time, budget and quality criteria.

Dave is an integral part of our platform development team and is responsible for developing the platform for new co-investment and lending software along with the development of other software products associated with Growth Capital Ventures.
Using development and coding skills to build fit for purpose software, Dave serves in a lead capacity to architect, develop, customize, and integrate services and applications. Dave has had experience of leading and overseeing the design and technical delivery of major projects for blue chip brands across the world. Dave is also an advocate of Continuous Integration and Delivery techniques and the principles of DevOps.

James is a Software Developer with over 10 years’ experience, specialising in back-end systems and APIs. As an advocate of domain-driven design, James carefully designs and builds powerful software that adapts to the changing needs of projects.
As Chief Technical Officer, James is primarily responsible for the design and development of client projects. This includes working with the client to gain a deep understanding of the problems they’re tackling, to ensure that the resulting software meets the needs of the business.

Mark is a Senior Software Developer with over 10 years of experience in working in the technology industry.
Specialising ASP.Net development, Mark has worked on a wide range of projects, utilising many different platforms and services, across various industry sectors.
With skills in both back end and front end development, Mark is comfortable working anywhere across the technology stack.
Mark will be responsible for developing next generation finance and property technology platforms, blending his .Net development experience with Agile and DevOps processes.

Dan is an experienced PHP Developer responsible for developing clean and fast PHP to a high standard, in scalable way to ensure our GrowthFunders platform is operating effectively. Dan is responsible for the development of all the software products associated with GrowthFunders, troubleshooting, testing and maintaining the core product and databases associated.
Leading all PHP development, Dan is responsible for producing detailed specifications,
developing and deploying new features to facilitate related procedures and tools if necessary as well as contributing in all phases of the development lifecycle.

Ryan is a computer science graduate and has 6 years experience as a software developer in agile development.
Ryan’s role as a Senior Software Developer is to drive the product forward by creating the visual and interactional elements for the Growth Capital Venture products. Ryan will ensure its look, functionality, accessibility, responsiveness and quality is to as high standard as possible using a range of front end technologies in an agile manner.

As a fresh MSc graduate, Steven is a forward-thinking individual who has an extensive amount of knowledge around web development languages and architectural concepts. With the versatility in skillset, Steven’s intention is to progress towards becoming a full stack developer within ASP.Net.
Within an agile environment, Steven has a close collaboration with our Chief Technical Officer, Dave, ensuring all functionality and quality of ongoing projects are performing up to standard.

Paul joins Growth Capital Ventures as a Junior Software Developer specialising in HTML, CSS, JavaScript and front-end libraries. With a commitment to self-improvement coupled with project opportunities, Paul will have a structured developer roadmap allowing him to further progress his skills in JavaScript, React and tools such as HubSpot and a variety of CMS platforms.

Fresh out of his A-Levels, Liam has dived into web Development head first. Extending from the great experience of the Growth Capital Ventures development team around him, Liam will support where needed, building knowledge along the way.

Shaun has over 10 years experience in creative design, he is passionate about print design and has been the lead creative designer of many impressive projects throughout his career.
Shaun works with teams across the business to ensure we maintain brand identity, whilst creating new branding for upcoming projects. Working closely with the Creative Director and Chief Operating Officer, Shaun creates eye catching visuals for ours and our investee companies print and digital design projects.

Jake graduated from Northumbria University in 2017 with a degree in Interactive Media Design, his passion lies within Experiential and Visual Design, bringing a forward way of thinking to the user experience of our design projects.
Jake works with various teams across the business, working particularly closely with the Development team, on the design and creation of platforms and websites, ensuring all features give the best experience to ours and our investee companies customers.

As Head of Sales and Marketing, Phil is responsible for the entire marketing and sales functions within the Quva brand.
Whether it be sourcing and negotiating deals, to creating engaging content and developing the brand, Phil’s creative, multi-skilled and hands on approach ensures the Quva brand is constantly evolving and growing at a rapid pace.
Having worked in the software and technology industries for nearly a decade, Phil has had the pleasure of working with some of the world's biggest and best-known brands, creating successful campaigns for the likes of Virgin Atlantic, Puma and Cisco to name a few
