See who's pitching at Venturefest Yorkshire 2015

Meet the finalists who are pitching at Venturefest Yorkshire 2015

On March 12th, Venturefest comes to Yorkshire.

The event, now in its twelfth year, is renowned for the way it brings people together: entrepreneurs who are leading startups with high growth potential and investors who are looking to build a diverse investment portfolio (and hopefully find the next Google along the way).

The synergy between Venturefest and GrowthFunders was too strong for us to ignore - we are also dedicated to connecting ambitious start up, early stage, and more established businesses with forward-thinking investors of all experience levels. That's why we are delighted to be working with the Venturefest team and organising this Investment Competition at this year's event.

The Investment Competition, which closed on January 31st, attracted a record number of entries, not only from Yorkshire-based companies, but across the country. The response has been fantastic and we've seen a number of really exciting start ups and more established businesses which show signs of high growth potential.

We've sorted through the entries, made our decisions, and are now ready to announce the finalists. Here's a quick overview...there will be more information to follow;

The finalists:

The Investment Competition

These eight finalists will now pitch their businesses to a judging panel, in front of a room full of potential investors, and the winner will receive a bonus prize package worth £50,000 (details of which will be revealed soon).

To be in that room, you'll need to reserve your space. Each of these businesses are seeking capital to grow, so the opportunities are open for investment from interested parties.

And you could be part of it - GrowthFunders brings early stage investing to a much wider investor base. With investments from as little as £100, investing in this exciting asset class is now more affordable and accessible, which is fantastic if you're not a "traditional" angel, you can still access some lucrative tax reliefs and support the next generation of innovative British Businesses.

Co-investment through GrowthFunders

GrowthFunders' approach is based around syndication, allowing smaller investors to invest alongside more experienced and institutional investors. This ensures that everyone invests on the same terms, regardless of the size of investment. If you'd like to learn more about co-investment, check out this blog.
